BLACKPINK MV THEORY " WHISTLE"

Hii... This is our first posting.Actually this first posting is up to the task, but if we have other time we gonna post other posting and more interesting. and now, in our first posting we gonna tell about theory in Blackpink's MV Whistle. Before we start, we gonna tell you who are BLACKPINK.

Black Pink (Hangul: 블랙핑크), stylized as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK, is a South Korean girl group formed in 2016 by YG Entertainment. The group consists of four members who hail from South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand. They debuted with two singles, "Boombayah" and "Whistle", from their single album Square One on August 8, 2016. The member are Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. so if you want to know more about BLACKPINK you can visit YG Entertaimen's site and watch their MV in Youtube.

1.  I Play To Win!
      First, let’s take a look at the game from the first scene, it shows starting a game called “Whistle-Blackpink”. 

In order to play a video game you need few things: game pack, game console, and controller.

   

      First, in the art gallery, game console is in display. This game  consoleis the basic foundation for enjoying a game. Therefore, it is also the basic foundation for Blackpink. This game console is displayed along with art work in art gallery. Blackpink shows confidance in how their foundation is ‘artistic value’ this game pack is in a convenience store where everyone can easily use, not an art gallery. This shows that Blackpink is a group like the pink pringles in the convenience store, everyone can enjoy and easily access Blackpink’s music. Therefore, Blackpink is a group with both artistic value and mass appeal.

    Lastly, Lisa is painting the game controller pink. There are four controllers that have been specially created, each controller has a diffrent shape. And, althought controller means a tool for controlling a game console, it can be interpreted as someone who directly controls. It’s the four members who are playing the game “Whistle-Blackpink”. Therefore, this means that Blackpink will show its artistic value and mass appeal through each member’s individualistic charms.

2. Fishbowl, fish

     Fishbowl is used in psychological test to learn about the relationships between family members. For this test subject is asked to draw “the world he/she wants” on the fishbowl. So you can think of the inside of the fishbowl as the world”Blackpink” wants to make. Inside the fishbowl, there are the controller, which stands for the four members of Blackpink, and the game pack”Blackpink”. You can also see fish. Here fish are Blackpink’s fans. As the controller, Blackpink controls the world they wanted to create. And the fans who have fallen in love with Blackpink and each member’s charm are being controlled like the fish inside the fishbowl. It is saying that the fans will not be able to get out. 

      And there will continue to be more and more fishbowl. Fishbowl each member manage have different object and these objects are concepts and music that Blackpink will show in the future. Ready to appeal to many fans with  a variety of concept and music, Blackpink ambitiously prepared even a giant fish tank. Attracting more and more fans, they will trap their fans in their charms. I already feel like a fish inside their tank  O_O

3. Car, plant

    Car is the means to the future. People riding the car together are sharing the same goals. Jisoo, Jennie, rose, and Lisa are team members riding the same car. Therefore, the car is Blackpink itself. 

There are also fish trapped inside. As previously explained, this illustrates how fans are unable to get out Blackpink’s charms.

Between Lisa and Jisoo, there is a parched tree. Althought this tree needs to be given water to be green, they are just looking at it. And at the same time, they stare at the camera. They seem to be saying that whether Blackpink can grow to blossom and bear fruit depends on fans.

4. Contradiction

          As Blackpink’s name is self-contradictory, their MV continously shows contrasing images. An elegant art gallery, a convenience store everyone can use.

A workshop fill of dust and smell of burning,  a loundry and scent of detergent.

An elegant but a burned down mansion full of smoke inside beside these places, this MV shows contradictory images. Although they seem to be driving freely from distance, the are actually just going around in circle. 

A chandelier outsidewhere people bike and dance. She is sitting st the table calmly but you can see fire and animals with horns that represent aggressiveness and anger. 

Similarly, althought floating in the air unstably, she is reading a book elegantly.

Also, moods are often changed between pink and black. Members wearing cloth of different thems or two color at the same time. There many contradictory images inside this MV that it is hard to mention every one of them.

5. The World Being immersed By BLACKPINK

       Blackpink members sitting on top of the earth and the earth being dyed pink represent the world that will be immersed by Blackpink.

 Will anyone able to stop Blackpink’s strong and cool march?

      Yeah, that is the theory of Whistle from Blackpink. Is that very pretty cool, right? 

So, Blackpink is the monster rookie for this year, they have first place in chart music in some country with their debut music in a few days. so cool right?
